KEHS Houses

As a reminder of our school's history, each year we celebrate Founder's Day. This year, in recognition of the return of Houses, our House Captains and Vice Captains have sent a special message. Click on your House below to read your message.

Beaufort

Wishing a very happy Founder’s Day to all members of Beaufort House!

As the House Captain and Vice Captain of the newly reformed Beaufort, we want to extend a warm welcome to all of our House Alumnae.

Did you know that our House was named after Lady Margaret Beaufort who was the mother of Henry Tudor (Henry VII). You can read more about this and the other Houses in this year's edition of KEynotes, which will be with you later this term.

In the meantime, we'd love to hear some of your old House stories, to help give us ideas of events, initiatives and values we can revive. Click here to add yours.

Bordeaux

Happy Founder's Day to all members of Bordeaux! As the recently appointed House Captain and Deputy House Captain, we are really excited to tell you about the reintroduction of the House system.

Our House was named after King Richard II of Bordeaux during whose reign the Gild of the Holy Cross was established in Birmingham, which would later go on to help set up KES and KEHS. To find out a little more about our House history and the fleur-de-lys emblem, as well as the other Houses, have a look at this year's edition of KEynotes that will be with you later this term! We would love to hear more about your experiences within the House system and, in particular, any memorable events and initiatives that you enjoyed. Please click here to add yours.

Seymour

Wishing a very happy Founder’s Day to all members of Seymour!

As the House Captain and Vice Captain of the newly reformed Seymour, we want to extend a warm welcome to all of our House Alumnae.

We've enjoyed discovering Seymour's past and the history behind it's formation! Did you know that our House emblem, the phoenix, came from the crest of the family of Jane Seymour, mother of Edward VI! You can read more about this and the other Houses in this year's edition of KEynotes, which will be with you later this term.

In the meantime, we'd love to hear some of your old House stories, to help give us ideas of events, initiatives and values we can revive. Click here to add yours.

Tudor

Wishing a very happy Founder’s Day to all members of Tudor House!

As the House Captain and Vice Captain of the newly reformed Tudor, we want to extend a warm welcome to all of our House Alumnae.

Did you know that our House was named after the royal house of Tudor of which the founder, King Edward the Sixth, was a member of? The royal house of Tudor united the house of Lancaster and York, thus it is symbolised by the Tudor rose as a combination of the white rose of York and red rose of Lancaster. Unsurprisingly, the rose is also England’s national flower. The symbol of our House is therefore the yellow tudor rose. Currently members of the house have been avidly participating in inter-house football tournaments and Tudor House socials. You can read more about this and the other Houses in this year's edition of KEynotes, which will be with you later this term.
