This summer, a small group of Upper Sixths contacted our Old Edwardians, parents and friends of the school by telephone. They called to share news of school developments, to find out about experiences at school and beyond, and to ask for support of our Assisted Places Programme.
Whether by the sacrifices made by parents, the support of the Direct Grant or Assisted Places schemes, or other means, all pupils have attended our schools thanks to the generosity of others. Today, the Assisted Places Fund continues to support pupils from all backgrounds to attend KEHS, and to benefit from being part of this community for the rest of their lives.
We believe that every capable pupil should have the opportunity to have a King Edward’s education.
We are thrilled to announce that during the two-week telethon, we raised over £45,000 for Assisted Places! Additionally, over 50 more people have either pledged a gift or are considering a contribution, potentially adding another £30,000 to our remarkable total.
Nearly 150 donors supported us throughout the calling, with 42% of these committing to a regular gift. Regular gifts are so important to us, as they enable long term sustainability and help us plan for the future.
Thank you to you all for making a tremendous impact. Collective giving is a powerful force that inspires others, and together, you are paving the way for the next generation of bright young girls to walk through our doors with confidence and opportunity.
A huge thank you to everyone for their support of our calling campaign to Assisted Places and to everyone who shared their experiences or signed up to help with our careers network, CareersLink.
It is our ongoing commitment to continue to support as many boys/girls as possible and we are proud that we support double the national average of means – tested places. To do this, we rely on the financial support of our alumni, parents and friends, and we thank you for your continued support.
